    Our school was established in August 1970. On August 1, 2007 the school was promoted and approved by the Ministry of Education to become Tungnan University. The educational program is divided into four divisions ??the Daytime Division, the Nighttime Division, the Division of Continuing and Extension Education Institute and the Division of Continuing Education College. Four institutes and 19 departments are included in this educational program. These include the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the Institute of Electronic Engineering, the Institute of Construction Technology and Hazards Mitigation, the Institute of Industrial Engineering, the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Information Technology, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Mechatronic Technology, the Department of Construction and Spatial Design, the Department of Environmental Engineering, the Department of Energy and Refrigerating & Air-Condition Engineering, the Department of Industrial Management, the Department of Information Management, the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Travel and Ecotourism, the Department of Marketing and Logistics Management, the Department of Applied English, the Department of Leisure Management, the Department of Hospitality Management, the Department of Digital Media Design, the Department of Interior Design, the Department of Creative Product Design. Tungnan University's enrollment is approximately 7,500 students, all studying and growing together in the scenic area of Shenkeng Township.

    Our school motto is "Loyalty, Honesty, Diligence and Persistence"with the attitude of one mind on education, combined with teaching diligently with serious discipline. Over the past 43 years, under the leadership of Tungnan's founder Mr. Chiang Chih-ping and the charisma of past presidents and efforts of the staff members, our school has been ranked numerous times as a first-grade institution of higher education by the Ministry of Education. In 2007, our school was promoted to the Tungnan university, Our education goal are "students come first and teaching has the highest priority"and "teaching according to the student's ability and teaching without discrimination."And our instructional-excellence project was awarded consecutively by the Ministry of Education to our university in 2007 and 2008. All faculty and staff of Tungnan University devote themselves according to humanitarian ideals, service-oriented principles, and scientific and culturally -integrated concepts to establish an outstanding campus environment, to improve the learning effectiveness of students and to enhance the related work of career development.

    In recent years, we have invested a significant amount of our budgetary funds in teaching and research equipment to create a perfect place for professional practice, experiment and research and a campus that fully utilizes digital learning. We provide both teachers and students of the university an excellent multi-faceted teaching/learning environment in order to realize the goal of instructional excellence in an efficient and effective manner

    Education at our university integrates teaching, learning and student guidance by setting up a certification examination center to certify different levels of certification (including international certification). To totally integrate the certification examinations into specialty classes is our plan. We encourage and motivate both teachers and students to obtain professional certifications. By actively doing so, students will substantially strengthen their competitiveness in the job market.
